Reminiscing on Summer ♡

It's been such a miserable day today, so cold, dark and rainy and even though I do actually enjoy this type of weather, it's making me miss summer already!

Not this summer... oh no, no thank you I will not miss you!

These photos are from my holidays in Portugal a couple of years ago and it's made me realise how much I've missed not having a holiday this year. Obviously, I know that I can still go on holiday, but I don't know how I'd feel about sitting on a plane with strangers from all over, and the 2 weeks quarantine when I come home, so I think I'll just wait until next year.

Saying that, the situation might be the same next year (fingers crossed not) but we can only wait and see...

What I Really Think About Beauty Works Hair Products ♡

At the beginning of lockdown, I decided to treat myself to some luxurious, lovely long hair extensions. I went with Beauty works 24" inch stick tip extensions (which are the extensions I usually have). Even though the hair is very very pricey, I wanted to treat myself to something. So my thoughts were if I'm spending so much money on the hair extensions, I want them to last, so I bought all the recommended hair products that are designed to keep the extensions healthy and basically worth the money. So, I bought myself all of these lovely products as seen above: Shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, heat protectant, shine spray, 9 in 1 conditioner spray and an argan serum. Sounds like enough to keep your hair healthy right?

Let's begin with the Shampoo, conditioner and hair mask. The shampoo and conditioner had this sort of sparkle to when you pump it out of the bottle, which initially made me think that it was going to leave my hair luscious and shiny - which I wouldn't argue that it didn't but it wasn't anything advert like if you know what I mean. The shampoo actually didn't really feel like it cleaned my natural hair so I did end up just using this shampoo on my extensions and then my regular shampoo on my roots which didn't bother me too much. The conditioner on the other hand, did leave my hair lovely and soft after every single wash and really enjoyed using.

The hair mask again was great, made my hair lovely and soft however, I couldn't really find the difference of the conditioner to the hair mask as I felt like they pretty much had the same effect. Now I know they're both a conditioning treatment but when you pay for a conditioning mask you expect it to have a different effect to just a regular conditioner - otherwise, I would just leave a conditioner on my hair for 10 minutes instead.

Now onto the heat protectant. To me, this just felt as good as any other heat protectant, did it's job and to be honest has lasted me quite a long time so this product i give a thumbs up. The 9 in 1 conditioning spray again did its job, i previously used the Revlon 9 in 1 spray and whether I prefer the beauty works one to it i don't know. The Revlon one has a lovely coconut smell however, the actual products i don't think were that different. However, the shine spray in my opinion was a complete waste of money. I did not see the effect of the product and really was just a waste of money to me. I ended up just using it to make my hair smell nice as it did have a lovely smell however, I was disappointed with this product. Whether I used it correctly i don't know but it wasn't impressed.

For the final and most definitely my FAVOURITE product out of all of them, the Argan oil. The smell of this product is soooo good! It leaves your hair feeling lovely and soft, kept my curls lovely and bouncy and soft and overall I have really enjoyed using this product. The bottle is not big at all and I expected to use it in about 2 months, however 5/6 months later and i still have a quarter left.

Now, I know I haven't actually mentioned the Beauty works hair extensions and my thoughts on those as I feel like it needs it it's own post, so keep an eye out for that in the future.

5 Things We've All Learnt In Lockdown ♡

The global lockdown was very difficult and challenging for some of us, some of us it was the perfect time to build bigger and stronger relationships with your family and/or partner. Now lockdown is easing, I think a relatable reflection of what we've learnt during lockdown.

1. We eat when there's nothing to do.
Now, I'm not sure whether this is a positive or a negative because I got really creative with my dinners and tried things I've never made or had but... I probably ate a serving size of 4. Also, the constant snacking on crisps and biscuits was waaaaay too tempting and nothing could stop me.

2. I Enjoy alone time.

I'm a person who normally doesn't like to sit alone in my room, I like to be sat with my family or friends, otherwise, my mind drifts off into another world and I somehow think the unthinkable will happen. However,  during lockdown, sometimes I had no choice but to be alone and I had to learn to enjoy it. I bought myself a Law of Attraction planner where I could not just plan my 'week' but reflect on how my days been, right things down, draw things and I found it really helped. I might do a future blog post of the Law of Attraction planner as I found it really fun to spend doing for 10 minutes of my day.

3. I'm no good at quizzes.

I must have done about 20 quizzes during lockdown and I don't think I won once. Let's just say, my general knowledge isn't the best and never will be.

4. Exercise is so important.

Something I always thought I knew but never actually understood how much until lockdown. I personally, go to the gym 4 - 5 times a week, so no gym and only an hours exercise a day was tough. However, my daily walks and that hour was the hour I looked forward to the most every single day.

5. Amazon prime is an addiction.

Okay, so a possible 'Top buys on Amazon' could be another blog post idea because I definitely bought a list full during lockdown. From weird gadgets to books, to things for the garden and things for my cat... everything!

A Week Away In Norwich ♡

After many months and weeks of being in lockdown, not being able to go any further than the local supermarket me and my boyfriend decided we deserved a long-awaited week away together. Not seeing him for over 10 weeks was so difficult, but we kept reminding ourselves that were weren't the only couple going through this and it was for a good cause.

So, we hopped online, booked a lovely log cabin and off we went. We stayed just outside of Norwich but we surrounded ourselves with lots of local harbours and seaside to spend our days and evenings.

Our first day we spent at Wells Next The Sea where there was lots of beautiful boats. It was really windy this day so my phone stayed in my pocket but I got a quick snap of the harbour.
